Zum Klaaf mit dem Köbes
Have you never heard of the chapel, the Schalander and the Malerwinkel? Then off to this brewery, where the Cologne soul is caressed particularly sensitively. This includes a "Klaaf" (chat) with the Köbes, but much more a bulging wreath with in-house Kölsch. Heaven and Ade taste particularly good in Malerwinkel, a kind of ancestral gallery of prominent Cologne residents.

A former gourmet restaurant, the Art Nouveau blanket dates from this time. The house specialty is the "brewing house plate" with schnitzel and fried potatoes. Daily from 11 a.m.

Recommended by a local. Authentic type of brew house, nice decor in rooms. Best part was the potato soup & sauerkraut, both the best we've ever had. House beer was good & served in smaller glasses so inexpensive $2.40. The schnitzel was just ok according to my German friend. The potato salad was good but a more of an American creamy type.
Service was a bit on slow side but hey it's Europe. Bring a coin because there is a guy sitting in restroom entrance making sure you pay which is really bad considering all the money we spent on food & drink there, it should be free.

Enjoyed this brauhaus during a quick visit to Cologne. It was a nice break from all the walking we had done in the morning. Place was packed but we eventually got seated. Wood panels, wood tables/chairs/benches all over. A bustling brew house frequented even by the locals. Great sign!
Started off with the Kolsch, the local pale ale and we enjoyed that. Refills took longer than we were told by our guide but that's okay.
We tried the schnitzel and seasonal white asparagus with hollandaise, Ham and cheese with potato rosti, white asparagus and hollandaise, several orders of the Crispy Pork Knuckles with sauerkraut. Delicious, memorable and hope to visit again someday.
Service was the downside. Very impatient woman server with poor attitude who sighed and rolled her eyes at us.

Just stopped in for a beer, but it was great and our server was super friendly. The menu looked great, but we were doing a beer sample around town at 5 different places.

Lovely visit here. Came specifically for the kolsch. Fantastically refreshing on a hot, hot day. I had the cheese, butter, onion, and roll. Simple fare that was wonderful in every aspect. My wife and friend ordered the minced pork on roll. Known as Mett in Germany. We weren't aware this is raw ground and seasoned pork. We tried it, and it tasted fine, we just couldn't get past our own cultural biases on this one. Our server was great and I would highly recommend popping in.

Wir waren hier zum Abendessen. Atmosphäre ist toll und man sollte in jedem Fall reservieren. Kölsch ist auch lecker. Essen ist rustikal und lecker. Allerdings eine Spur zu teuer.

Wie immer spitze. Wir waren schon das ein oder andere Mal hier. Grundlegend steht und fällt ja jeder Brauhaus-Besuch, egal wo, mit dem Köbes. Unser Köbes Udo war spitze. jederzeit gut betreut, flink reagiert auf Sonderwünsche, schnell im Kölsch-Nachschub und Spass haben ihr auch noch gehabt. Ganz nebenbei, das Essen war ebenfalls top.

Gepflegtes Brauhaus mit entsprechendem Ambiente. Sehr freundliche Köbesse met ner kölschen Schnüss 😀 . Essen prima, Kölsch läuft. Wat wellste mieh.

Meine Schwiegereltern waren spontan in Köln und wir versuchten unser Glück. An einem Samstag Abend hatten wir erst keine großen Hoffnungen hier einen Platz zu finden. Das Personal ist aber so professionell und organisiert, dass wir kurze Zeit später an einem tollen Tisch Platz nehmen konnten. Die Service ist schnell, freundlich und kompetent. Das Essen war richtig gut! Wir hatten Himmel und Äd, Grünkohl, Pourladengeschnetzeltes und Putenbrust in Pfeffersose. Alles wae ausgesprochen lecker! Sehr zu empfehlen. Wir sind Kölner und kennen durchaus Brauhäuser die nicht annähernd so gut sind
